Overview
Introducing Prism Skills Process, a recent project that addresses the growing need for individual development and the enhancement of soft skills in the workplace. While hard skills have traditionally been the main focus, Prism offers an opportunity for users to gain insight into their own development areas and explore opportunities to enhance soft skills such as Active Listening, Speaking Up, and Driving Action.
Approach
We strategized around gamification and how to bring excitment to a relatively mundane exprience. We stayed away from the "Read this article and you'll be better skilled" concept and pushed the user into more actionable tasks. Having an accountability partner would help the individual stay on track and ensure the process was being carried out.
The Skills Page introduces each soft skill and its impact on you. It provides insights into the skill and guides you on the journey of personal development.
After selecting your Prism Skill, you’ll quiz yourself on your knowledge of the skill and rate your proficiency. You can then choose a development path that suits your needs or create your own strategy to achieve your goal.
Asking for help and keeping a journal are key ways to track your progress. Your chosen development partner will hold you accountable, while your reflections serve as a reminder of your practice and what you experience along the way.
